Who Is CharlieHorse?

I have enjoyed over 10 years working within software development and business critical environments helping clients of all shapes, sizes and sectors implement and maintain systems and processes.Performing user support, testing, analysis, project and business management functions has ingrained the importance of usability, understanding and communication. Even the most outstanding system or process will not be successful unless people have the knowledge and desire to use it effectively.
CharlieHorse was established to share first-hand knowledge about how audiences think, what they need to know and how this may best be provided. I am formally trained in business and technical communication methodologies, belong to the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) and the Technical Communicators Association of New Zealand (TCANZ).
Based in Nelson, New Zealand, CharlieHorse provides business communication and technical writing services nationwide. Work is carried out remotely and onsite as required. Breadth of experience, a can-do attitude and professional, friendly approach is applied to every business communication and technical writing project undertaken.

Like any trusty steed worth his oats, CharlieHorse combines pragmatic and reliable qualities with boldness and more than a little personality!
There are traits typical of the technical writer stereotype - I am extremely detail focused, admit to a love of grammar and stationery, and could give you a run for your money in a spelling bee! However, what I really like doing is getting to know people and improving the user experience. When not swinging my CharlieHorse lasso, I keep busy trying to tame my bucking bronco, enjoying the great outdoors, going on adventures and writing. |
